The Grappler II

Today Jake's match was at Cedar Cliff...three bouts...his first bout against West Perry started off strong, taking his opponent to the floor quickly...West Perry came back and got him...stay strong out there bud - mommy and daddy are proud of you!

Second bout against Northern...Jake has his game face on (daddy told him to tell his opponent he loved him to try and throw him off) - Pretty sure he didn't do that...but whatever he did worked...2nd bout goes to Jake!!!!

Last bout against Northern...Jake's opponent had him from the beginning...however Jake stayed strong and stayed with him till the end...he fought and fought hard! We are so proud of him...he had a few tough opponents...

Please ignore the obnoxious screaming woman in the background...I have NO IDEA who she was...

Joey turns 3!

Today our little girl turned three!! It is hard to believe, time really does fly by...
We went north and had Jo's birthday bash up there...Daddy had the bright idea to make Jo a Dora cake...we had done special cakes for the others and he wanted to do one for her...two cakes later here is what she looks like...

The first cake broke when removing from the pan...mommy's fault for not lubing the pan more...but hey, it gave Pop Pop something to do...here is Pop Pop's cake...

Looks almost as good as Jason and Jen's...

Perhaps we should open a bakery...we have rocked out the cakes over the years...

Happy Birthday baby!!

The Great Grappler

As most of you know Jake (all 34 lbs of him) is part of the Cedar Cliff Colts wrestling team. Today was his first match...Jen was WAY more nervous than Jake...he had no clue what he was getting into yet held his own fairly well! First match #41, Jake takes on New Oxford...doing great...staying on his feet...unfortunately he gets pinned with three seconds left in the last period.
However...Jake shook off his loss, and held onto his sportsmanship as he cheered on his practice partner Aiden as he pinned his guys. Jake prepared for his second match by getting his game face on...

Onto match #117 against Bermudian Springs, Jake goes out strong leg sweeps and all...Mom and Dad matside are loudly and proudly cheering him to victory as he pulls off his first win!
As if he surprised himself he left the mat extremely excited...he came running to mom and dad.
Great job little man! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!
